Dusty Yellow With Feet on the Ground
Frequently Asked Questions
What colors pair well with #abac96?
Deep plum, navy, and charcoal all bring out the yellow undertone in #abac96 and stop it from reading muddy. Warm creams and rust also work for a softer, earthy palette.
Is #abac96 readable as a background for text?
Yes. Black text on #abac96 reaches about 9.1:1 contrast, well above the 4.5:1 that WCAG AA requires for body text. White text is not readable on it, so keep type dark.
Does #abac96 read warm or cool?
It reads warm at heart but muted, since heavy gray pulls the yellow toward khaki and sage. Next to bright yellows it looks dull, and next to greens it looks warmer.
