This dusty, muted red feels remarkably restrained and earthy. Because it is highly unsaturated, #9c7e77 works best as a supporting tone rather than a dominant background, where it can easily appear muddy. Pair it with soft creams or charcoal grays to maintain visual balance. Since the hex code offers a solid 5.7:1 contrast, you can safely use black text on this color for readable UI elements.
