Mid-tone grey #969696 functions as a sturdy, neutral anchor for professional designs. It avoids harsh brightness while maintaining enough contrast to keep black body text legible, exceeding WCAG AA standards. Use it as a supporting tone in UI interfaces or minimal layouts rather than a full background to prevent a muddy appearance. This hex code works best when paired with bold, saturated accents to provide visual interest.
